Students learn about the different stages of the life cycle of thoroughbred horses and consider how the needs of thoroughbreds change as they grow. Students explore how physical characteristics, such as width, height, and number of teeth, change throughout the life cycle. They also learn about the importance of grouping animals by age in the thoroughbred industry to help train, care for them, and meet their needs at the different stages of their lives.
